Lampo, Morellino di Scansano, is a wine produced with carefully selected grapes of Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo, the vineyards are planted on ground exposed to the northwest winds.

Technical characteristics

Variety: Sangiovese 85%, Ciliegiolo 15%.
Altitude: 150 – 180 meters above sea level
Vineyard exposure: mainly north-west
Soil type: sandy soil with a skeleton of sandstone, the ground is rather homogeneous
Growing system: spur pruned cordon
Plant density: 5680 plants/ha
Yeld /hectare: 8/9 t
Harvest: The perfect weather conditions allowed the grapes to ripen evenly.
Grapes were harvested, after repeated tastings, when arrived at perfect phenolic ripeness.
Vinification: Grapes, once reached the cellar, were gently de-stemmed and left to ferment in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature of 27 ° C.
Aging: Once the wine is separated from skins, it was immediately put in tonneaux of 6 hl where took place the malolactic fermentation and the subsequent aging for 9-12 months. After a light filtration, in the following February, he began his stage of aging in bottle, that lasts for a further 12 months.

Tasting notes

This wine shows a ruby red color, a complex and sophisticated scent of red fruits combined in a perfect spicy amalgam, a smooth and enveloping taste with refined tannins.
